The Problem
When I joined Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2018, the school was finalizing a multi-year process of consolidating its 27 degree programs into 7. This new degree structure presented a challenge in communicating the options available to students.
How does a student evaluate the difference between, say, t he Master of Divinity (MDiv) and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministries (MACM)?
The Solution
I guided the MARCOM team in developing a design system for visualizing our degree programs, highlighting two factors:
1. Length of Program (Measured in number of courses)
2. Course Divisions (category of courses)
Gordon-Conwell faculty and courses are organized into three divisions:

Degree Transition
In 2019, Gordon-Conwell consolidated 27 degree programs into 7. I designed the following sankey diagram to illustrate the logic in how our previous degrees were mapped to our newer degree programs.
